My Story

As a creative personality who values self-expression, I often find myself struggling to fit into typical molds, shrinking to be accepted in spaces that don’t feel like my own. When you do that often enough, you start to lose touch with those subtle, uncelebrated traits that make you uniquely who you are.

For me, working through that sense of self was a challenge. But style and fashion became my mirror reflecting who I was when I’d forgotten, and giving me a way to show the world who I was when I struggled to see it myself. Style spoke for me when I couldn’t find the words, helping me to articulate the parts of myself that didn’t fit into neat boxes.

Over time, that deep sense of expression through style didn’t just fill in the gaps — it EMPOWERED me. It gave me the confidence to search out the words to express myself and build out fuller way of communicating, one that embraced both my inner voice and outer expression. Style became a bridge, connecting who I was to the spaces I moved through, helping me show up authentically in every role I function in.

Discovering my voice through style has been an ongoing journey, but it’s one that allows me to show up as myself, unapologetically. After all, isn’t that what we all want? To be seen and valued for exactly who we are?

The Origins of SRM

ShawnaRowena M. Style Consultancy (SRM) was born from a dream that took root in my heart as early as age 6 or 7. At the time, it was an unformed, unclear vision, but over the years, through education, nurturing a unique blend of skills, and weaving together my passions for style, fashion, and design, this dream blossomed into something tangible.

Charting a path toward an obscured possibility can be daunting. There have been setbacks and delays, but also comebacks and victories. In the summer of 2020, amidst a global pandemic that none of us anticipated, ShawnaRowena M. (SRM) was launched and reintroduced to the world as a virtual style consultancy serving the professional, creative enterprising woman.
